Hawke Talk

Floswimming in collaboration with All-American Aquatics launched a new series called “Hawke Talk”. In this new series Auburn Co-Head Coach, Brett Hawke, is going to share his secrets with the world. The first episode is called “What Goes Around Comes Around” and covers the approach to mental and dryland preperation going into the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Nathan Adrian Talks About Double Wins at NCAAs

World Team Member Nathan Adrian and his coach Dave Durden talk about winning the at the NCAA, the new suit regulation and his status as an up-and-coming swimmer. This is Nathan’s second appearance on the Morning Swim Show. The last time he was talking about his expiernce at the Beijing Olympics and his return to collegiate swimming at Berkley.

Is Your Suit Still Legal?

FINA has finally announced the approved suits list for 2009. The Speedo LZR makes it for this summer, but there’s no sign of the arena X-Glide in which Alain Bernard set his 100m free world record and also no sign of the Jaked 01 in which Fred Bousquet scorched a 20.94. This probably means that the first sub-21sec 50m free and the first sub-47sec 100m free are yet to be achieved in terms of counting for world records. There’s also no sign of the BlueSeventy in which several others world records were set during the last few months. Great Turtle Race

Conservation International and National Geographic have teamed up with field research partner Canadian Sea Turtle Network to bring you the 2009 Great Turtle Race. This is the third event in a series that brings public attention to the critically endangered leatherback sea turtle and generates important research and conservation support. The turtles were being “coached” by U.S. Olympic swimmers such as Eric Shanteau who’s turtle, Backspacer, won this year’s race. The rest of the turtles continue to swim toward the finish and there are plenty of challenges still to be won.
