Against the Tide

If you live outside the US, you can finally watch Ed Moses’ five-part chronicle “Against the Tide” that was on Universal Sports Network on YouTube. In the premiere episode of Against the Tide Ed finds himself back in the pool prepping for the 2012 London Olympics. His struggle and personal quest to return to his times and results from seven years ago are well-documented. Moses, who walked away from the sport after the 2004 Olympic Trials, shares his successes, failures, disappointments, hopes, dreams and often wacky behavior as he chases the 2012 London Olympic Games.

The Open University has devised an interactive game to find out if you’ve got what it takes physically, psychologically and socially to make it to the podium at the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics. The “Olympisize Me” page also contains a wealth of Olympic information such as the Ancient Olympics portal which has an illustrated map, timeline and random quote generator. You can also read a series of academic articles related to the Olympics.

Championnats suisses en petit bassin à Uster

Un pas dans la bonne direction pour nos objectifs en mars 2012 avec des bons résultats pour les nageuses et nageurs du Vevey Natation. A noter les deux qualifications pour les Championnats d’Europe en petit bassin de Szczecin en Pologne du 8 au 11 décembre par Jonathan Massacand (100m dos) et Colin Bridier (200 brasse).

Championnats Suisse Uster 2011J’écris cet article seulement un jour après la fin de la compétition. C’est un moment où je me pose encore beaucoup de questions sur la qualité de mon travail des dernières 12 semaines. Est-ce qu’on a fait ce qu’il fallait pour que nos nageurs puissent réussir ? C’est l’occasion d’une analyse pour faire mieux lors des prochaines 16 semaines en vue des Championnats Suisse en grand bassin. Qu’est-ce qui nous a manqué pour faire mieux ? Quels sont les changements à apporter aux entraînements pour mieux encadres tous les nageurs ? Enfin, c’est un moment émotionnel pour l’entraîneur…il faut tout remettre en questions et en même temps garder confiance pour la suite. Ceci n’est donc pas un rapport dans le vrai sens du mot, mais plutôt une partie de mon travail de «digestion» de ces Championnats.
